| | I keep on hearing this or something like this in the news or on blogs and I have a note to say about it. I am not for the "War on Terror" mainly because it's a lame label to put on fight towards decent government in our neighboring countries. The "War on Terror" has practically been around for much longer than George W., much longer than George Washington, and much longer than the conceived thought of a New World across the sea. The fact of the matter is our current President may or may not have had us invade Irag and other nations but he did. And I believe he did not with his own selfish interest or pride, but with the United States of America in mind and its' well being. We call this a sad time for our country because of embarassment or disgrace of political stand points and lost lives of soldiers. Why not this is a sad time for out country because poverty is spread out so much and growing that a decent family with good values and character are decaying away because they can't financially support the ones the love. They can't support them because companies across the nations are moving their structures and laboring to foreign countries for tax breaks and labor costs, and depriving U.S. citizens of their lives. What about those who have cancer, diabetes, blood disorders, and diseases that may have no cure but that need attention to better their lives. If those patients can afford their medications they can't afford decent living conditions, auto updates (mechanical problems, gas, oil changes). Soldiers lose their lives. That is the risk of the business. A sheriff's deputy lost his life this past week in Ohio fighting a local, in our very own nation. His family gets a proper funeral and local news might cover the story but who really hears about it. How many peace officers do you think die a year in the course of their duty? A lot more than you'd imagine. By peace officer I mean fire fighter, police, sherrif, park ranger, state trooper, EMT, or security officer. They may make local news but the nation doesn't make much not if it because its sad but it happens. That's the job they choose and it happens. Right? If I'm wrong let me know. I don't think this is a sad time for our nation because we are fighting for a stable gavernment. As for our portion of the "War on Terror" shouldn't we always befighting terror one way or another? Shouldn't we be struggling for all its worth just to attempt at tasting what peace is made of? Being a Christian I know their won't be peace till Christ returns but should we just let the world go to Hell in the mean time? I don't believe anyone in their right mind would say yes to that. I have to go. The library is closing. |
