| I got a call this morning that came from Phoenix. A man was on the other line and said in a deep voice, "Is this David Stanforth?"
I said, "This is he."
"Mr. Stanforth, I am calling to give you a job offer with the Department of Corrections. The earliest day you can start is this next Monday."
"Yes Sir, Monday will be great! Thank you."
He then continued to explain, "I am sending you a manual in the mail." Then he verified my mailing address.
So their we have it. I'm in! I'm officially starting Monday the 28 of May, Memorial Day, 2007.
And if those of you don't know, I will be a Corrections Officer in the Tucson's State Prison.

| I enjoy a lot of natural disasters. I have always enjoyed thunder storms and rain. I do not enjoy death or injury but nature in it's peaceful times and in its beastful time. I really enjoyed the thunderstorm we had last night in Sunsites, Arizona. I have to admit though, I jumped a one of the gongs of the storm. If interested this site is about those who watch the weather. http://www.weathermatrix.net/ I would like to see a volcano someday, as long as its not in my back yard. Thunderstorms aren't really natural disasters they are just really cool. (No pun intened) I have seen tornados come out of the sky. I have seen floods that are almost covering peoples homes. I have never seen a hurricane or earthquake or typhoon but I think I would enjoy it. | | |
| Has anyone seen the Republican or Democratic debates. I know a lot of people really don't care about politics. Maybe because it's intimidating, or maybe because they believe Christians need to be detached from politics. Whatever they believe I am sure they feel deeply about it, perhaps even convicted about their non-political beliefs. But if you live in the United States as a citizen you have a choice. The choice I speak of has two main options and lots of little options. The little ones would take too long to speak of. The main ones are "Vote" or "Not to Vote."
When we do not vote, I do not believe it makes you less of a citizen though many would disagree with me. I do believe however that you are part of the body of the United States and if a little part of the body is paralyzed then their isn't much notice. But it that area spreads and consumes more parts or covers a greater amount then their is a noticeable difference. When we do not take a role in the decision making process of the well being of the country of which we reside then we are a small paralyzed part. Not a useless part. If someone is paralyzed from the neck down you can't chop off the rest of the body and think its going to be okay. It still has functions it is just unnoticeable on the exterior. Perhaps I'm going to far with the paralyzed concept so I'm going to stop. But if you decide not to vote then I support you if you have a solid reason or objection. I may not agree with you. But it is more honorable to stand on your beliefs firmly than to sway with culture because it says so and you don't know why your swaying you just sway.
If you vote then I support you. If you vote Democrat I support you and if you vote Republican I support you. Any party will do. The Dem's and Rep's are the two largest and popular parties of that last 5 or 6 or whatever generations. Every years those parties have pull in local elections, State elections and Federal Elections. They even have pull in decision making outside of elections. Congress, Senators, the Cabinet, the House of Representative and the House if the Senate all make decisions daily depending on their political preference. The parties are often displayed as Left and Right Wings. The left is the most liberal and the right is the most conservative. Then their are mid-wayers and quarter-wayers and certain degrees in between those.
But what are you if you are a very conservative Democrat or a very liberal Republican?
Is their such a thing?
Or is that like a cat-dog?
Or a fish-bird?
I don't think it is like a cat dog or a fish bird I think it is more common today than anytime before. I see Democrats being conservative and Republicans being liberal. This is why I think that are political parties have become stereo-typical. The Democrats have been labeled: Abortionist and the Republicans: War-addicts and Bible-Pushers.
I think those ideologies of the parties are wrong. Yes, Democrats Vote pro-abortion more than Republicans. And yes Republican do normally focus more on war-time involvement than the Democrats usually do. But their is so many more issues than that. And the reason their are two main parties is mostly due to the fact that conflict and controversy often create division. And I agree that our Nation is divided on so many levels. But mostly politically.
I believe that a democracy is the best thing for the United States (Lest Jesus Christ would reign). I believe we need to vote on a president. I believe in local government and that it is more vital than most people think.
Recent poles suggested that for the 2008 Presidential elections Hillary Clinton is more popular than Barak Obama. This is the Democratic side. Both claim to be Christians. Both of a good personality. Both want the War in Iraq to come to an end. Both represent a new type of president in this Country. Hillary is a Woman. Barak is black, partially at least.
For the Republicans the two main contestants are McCain and Romney. McCain is a professing Christian and Romney a Mormon. The United States knows McCain. He has been around for quite some time. Romney is again a new type of president as he is claiming to be a Mormon. Most presidents in the past have been Christian (Protestant or Catholic). I don't know a one that was Atheist or claimed to be another religion, yet their may be one or so that were.
Since I was 18 I was a Republican. My Father is a Republican as well as my Mother. My Father however was a democrat before, then switched over later on. My Father's parents were Democrats and my Mother's were Republicans. When I was 22 I switched to Independent. This year I may temporarily switch to Democrat. Why? Good Question.
I believe it is inevitable that we will get a democrat president in 2008 (taking office in 2009). I believe this because that is how this divided country works when a Republican president leads us into war. This isn't World War I or II and its not even III. It's a war on "Terror." The US nation for the majority sees this as a fault. A war to blame on someone. If that someone is President Bush or the Republican party as a whole I cannot say. But this war is a deciding factor of who will follow George's foot steps. I strongly believe it will be a democrat that is why I believe (though my views are mostly republican) I can choose to be democrat to vote on the better of the candidates. If I stay independent I have no say on the probable future.
I do not believe in abortion. I believe it is murder and unhealthy. I believe it is sinful and leaves the women in a state of emptiness (though they may not feel it at first).
I believe in federal government helping local governments in natural disasters and undeserving situations.
I believe in growing plants and finding a better source of energy and fuel.
I believe in helping the poor find affordable or no-cost health care.
I believe in taxes even though no body likes to pay them, without them this country would be lost.
I believe in separation of Church in States. Right now our nation is represented as Christian and many people think that Church and State shouldn't be separated, but what happens when Muslims or Buddhist or some different religion takes the spot light. Then people will want separation.
I believe Christians should lead and not hide in corners. I believe they need to be bold and stand their ground. I believe they can be in a political office and maintain their Christian standards. I believe it is hard and I believe it is supposed to be.
I believe in one nation under God and I believe you shouldn't judge someones eternal status by the party they choose.
I believe a woman can be a good president. And I believe Hillary is a very professional politician and was a good senator in New York.
I believe a black man can be a good president. And I believe Barak understands the nonsense of politics in this nation. I believe he can heal wounds and stop the war. I believe he can be successful and would lead our nation in the direction that he believed would be righteous. I believe his wife, though shy in politics, would be honorable and guide him like a wife should. I believe God made them one just as I am one with my wife. And I believe him when he confesses to be a follower of Christ Jesus.
I believe in McCain and I believe he would be a good president but I also believe that the odds are against him as he is a Republican. Maybe in 2012.
I do not believe in Romney. I do not believe Mormons generally have the proper morals and convictions as a Christian man or woman may have.
I will vote as a Christian, in a Christian perspective. Mormon religion is anti-Christian and I will not vote for a representative of such a religion.
I want to know what other people believe. You can disagree with me. You are allowed.

| I have recently taken tests for a Corrections Officer position at a state prison in Tucson. it is very exciting, though i wasn't previously looking forward to it. It can be a dangerous job but it is also challenging and rewarding. I don't have much to say: just thought I'd let you all know. | | |
| Did we really land on the moon? Who knows but this article doesn't make it look anymore convincing: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070429/sc_afp/russieusspaceiss_070429160742 . If they link doesn't work, sorry. Next Sunday makes a year of utter joy and happiness. No, not really, thats not going to happen until Heaven but it has been joyful and great and I love Rebecca more now than i did a year ago and I know we are great together even if we do argue able things that are usually my fault. It has been a year of showing me how I need to be more humble and look at others more than myself. I am truely, or truly, excited about what our future will hold. Even if we have sorrow in our future I would rather endure it with her than without her. Maybe their isn't just one person for everyone or "Soul Mates" but Rebecca is the woman God wants me to be with and He is active in our mariage. Not only will it be a year with Rebecca and the kids but with the in-laws. I truly feel you all are family and I love all of you. Some of you I have grown close to some I want to grow close to. Their are none of you I don't think of as family and I really am glad God chose me to be married in. time to eat. bye. | | |
